O’Brien’s Boulangerie commemorates 30 years of business with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Tour of Bakery.

Customers, friends, and family gathered at O’Brien’s Boulangerie on Tuesday, March 19th to celebrate 30 years of business and the new facility located in the city of Poway with a ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors member Mike Leland and council member Barry Leonard of the city of Poway.

O’Brien’s President, Edgar Escobar was presented with a gold plaque inducting O’Brien’s Boulangerie to the Poway Chamber of Commerce

 

as well as a Certificate of Achievement for the Grand Opening of his establishment from the office of Second District county supervisor Dianne Jacob.

“This business would not be where it is today without the continued support from my family, all our employees and bakers who make our breads day in and day out, and above all, our loyal customers who have been with us and grown with us throughout the years- thank you”, proudly said Mr. Escobar before cutting the ribbon.

Eldest daughter and Sales Executive, Sara Escobar, also addressed the crowd with words of gratitude and invited all guests inside the building for a tour of the facility alongside her sister and General Manager Yvonne Escobar.

Guests walked through the bakery and had the opportunity to see bakers shape dough while Sara and Yvonne described the baking process in detail.

Guests were then led outside to enjoy the spread offered up by O’Brien’s Café’s very own Chef Juan and his team who served fresh off the grill burgers on a variety of O’Brien’s delicious buns alongside choices of bacon potato salad, roasted tomato farfalle pasta, and watermelon salad with a vinaigrette dressing made in house as well as freshly made aguas frescas in horchata, watermelon, and orange.

Craft beers were provided by our friends at Rough Draft Brewing Co. and served in commemorative souvenir tumbler glasses.

Of course no celebration is complete without dessert! O’Brien’s pastry team provided chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies as well as french macaroons, chocolate-hazelnut sable cookies, and citrus squares for this occasion along side freshly brewed java from James Coffee Co.

Guests had an all around good time mingling with friends and family of the Escobar family as well as chefs and staff from various hotels and restaurants throughout San Diego.
